You will groan for a while at positivity, you’ll get used to it eventually though.
Surround yourself with positivity:
- notes, posters, messages, quotes, photos… cover your walls, your mirrors, your desk… put positive reminders on your phone, things that will pop up randomly on your laptop, hide them in all of your things so they surprise you next time you go in there
- positive music, positive movies, positive books, positive messages everywhere
- stay around positive people- positivity can rub off, if you’re around them, you’re more likely to stay positive whereas if you’re around more negative people you will be more likely to be more negative… you’re allowed to drop people from your life… the positive/supportive people are the ones who usually stay
- get creative- some kind of journaling or scrapbooking or drawing or anything else but keep it in a positive light (not to say you have to ignore all negative emotions because those need to get out too) but have a ‘positivity project’
When I started doing this, I actually surrounded myself with so much positivity it made me nauseous. I’m not even kidding. I couldn’t stand it.
But now I’m okay with it… and I’ve met new people, some of which are extremely positive, and they rub off on me a little here and there.
Don’t get angry with yourself if you get into a negative place… believe me, I still get there… a lot… and my when I talk to the positive people in my life they always make me feel better, even if just a little. They point things out from their perspective which can be really helpful.
That terrifying wonderful moment when you have a scene planned in your head, and as you’re writing it, your character does something else
Seriously, she just stormed out of the restaurant. I had such a lovely date planned for her.
I feel this post on a spiritual level!
"Please turn left in three hundred feet. Please turn left in one hundred feet. Turn left. Turn left. Your other left you idiot. Recalculating."
